The MOTIF exhibition introduces the public to Kujawy decorative folk art, from rural decorative motifs on fabrics or everyday objects, to the popular faience of Włocławek design. It also presents the evolution of the folk art of Kujawy, revolving around the history of the famous Faience Factory in Włocławek.

The main reason for taking up this issue was my personal relationship with Kujawy: I was born and grew up in Włocławek. I also wanted to confront the current trend of using folklore in modern interior design, and create a line of products for residential space design inspired by patterns used in the faience of Włocławek, and see how it functions in a modern “new folk” arrangement.
