I wanted to highlight the social issue of low readership rates without moralising. The slogan Be a Human, Read! emphasises that reading is a natural human activity, just like sleeping, eating and laughing.The project Typogryzmol was based on numerous typography workshops for children, who were the most stringent reviewers of my degree piece. Children know what they know and can decide for themselves what they do and do not like.
B. 1989; studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in professor Lech Majewski’s Studio of Publishing Graphic Design and professor Maciej Buszewicz’s Studio of Book Design (2008–2013). For his degree piece Be a Human, Read! he was awarded a Rector’s award. He has created children’s books, posters and illustrations, and conducted typography workshops for children. Illustrated for „TIME”, „Liberation”, „Tygodnik Powszechny”, „Gazeta Wyborcza”, „Architektura” and „Przekrój”, among others. He has received numerous awards in national and international graphic competitions, including a silver medal for the poster Remember at the 10th International Poster Triennial in Toyama (Japan), honourable mention at the 12th Poster Biennial in Mexico, honourable mention for his Maria Skłodowska-Curie poster in the 10th edition of the AMS Poster Gallery competition (2010) and the First Prize for his poster Home in the 12th edition (2011). Three-time prize-winner of the Skopje International Poster Festival (First Prize in 2011). Honourable mention in the Book of the Year 2011 competition organised by the Polish Section of IBBY for a children’s book Europe According to Penguin Popo. He has held 14 solo exhibitions, and participated in nearly 75 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
